What is your biggest running accomplishment on the concrete?

My biggest accomplishment would have to be the Nike women’s run in Canada. It was the first time that I decided to venture outside of my comfort zone and travel to a different country for a run. I had so much fun exploring a Canada meeting new people, hanging with my crew (concrete runners) and oh yea finishing a 15K! The reason I chose this run as my biggest accomplishment is because about halfway through the run I got injured but a combination of adrenaline and determination got me through the race. I can definitely say I earned my Tiffany’s necklace!

Why do you run?

Why I run, I run because it truly makes me happy. Its become a part of my identity so much so that I don’t know who I would be if I had never started running.  It gives me a sense of accomplishment setting new goals and reaching new heights. I run to inspire others who just like me at one time didn’t think it was possible.

What inspires you?

My family and friends inspire me; they’re the ones that believe in me when sometimes I don’t even believe in myself. They’re my number one fans and for them I want to go harder, run faster, and exceed my goals. Strangers that approach me saying that I motivate them also keep me going. It’s an inexplicable feeling to meet someone new and hear that you’re their inspiration. I am humbled to say the least.
